Staying Active in Winter

Staying active during the winter months is essential to maintaining your health. Leading an active lifestyle will help protect your heart and blood circulation, boost your immune system, improve your mental wellness, help you sleep better, and make you happier and healthier.

There are plenty of activities to do indoors such as online exercise classes and training on sports equipment. Better yet, dress for the weather and take the necessary precautions depending on the weather and conditions and get active outdoors. Hike the great trails, exercise and do yoga at the park, ski, skate and take activity challenges with friends and family.

Having partners in activity is a great idea to keep you motivated and eager to get moving. Set up hiking and picnic dates and take outdoor challenges with friends.

Check out our Workshops page for classes related to exercise, and visit Prescription to Get Active for details on this program and its mission to support individuals to become more active.
